All event courses require FINA approval at least 3 days prior to the actual event.  We understand courses may be revised up until the last minute, but we want to ensure that the basic structure meets our guidelines.

The best and preferred way to submit a course for approval is by submitting a detailed video showcasing the course, the obstacles, and ideally, the amount of time that is going to be provided to the athlete to complete the course.

In the video below, you can see a perfect example of what that video could look like:

There are a couple of things to note about this video:

  1. The gym is empty and quiet making it easy to see and hear the exact details of each obstacle.
  2. The course designer submitted the video with details for the youngest age group, 6-8.  For older age groups, you can simply state what the course revisions will be.  Example: “For the 9-10 age group we will be adding an additional ring.”, or “For the 13-15 age group, we will be changing this hold from a ring to a nunchuck.”

This video allows us at FINA to clearly understand what the course looks like, and provides us the ability to add feedback to the course.

Thanks to our friends at Four Star Ninja in Fargo, ND for allowing us to use this video.  If you’re ever in the Fargo area, be sure to check out this fantastic facility.
