FINA Rules Help
Brief Summary
Season 6 FINA Competition Rules
General
- Athletes must compete in the same division for the entirety of the season
- Divisions are based on the athlete’s age as of January 1, 2025.
- Athletes will receive one point for each obstacle they successfully complete.
- If an athlete fails an obstacle, they can continue to accrue points on the rest of the course.
- Athletes MUST attempt each obstacle with a full and honest effort.
- 13U Female, Young Adult Female, Amateur Female, Masters Female, and Top Flight Female may have additional time added to their course time limits. This is up to the discretion of the gym (see Season Rules for more information).
Speed
- Must have 8 specific obstacle types (listed below). We recommend, but do not require them to be in this order:
- Agility
- Aerial
- Balance
- Upper Body
- Aerial
- Balance
- Upper Body/Aerial
- Ascension
- Each competitor gets two runs. We take the best of those runs as their score
- Division time limits should be based on the successful completion times of the previous division.
Endurance
- Must have 12 obstacles, at least 8 of which must be upper body.
- Each competitor gets one run.
Badges and Certificates
- Any athlete who successfully completes an entire FINA course within the set time limit will earn a finisher badge (regardless of placement). There are separate badges for Speed and Endurance.
- Finisher badges should only be awarded for the FIRST full clear of an athlete this season. Subsequent clears will be awarded a pin that can be attached to the finisher badge.
- If you need additional badges, email jen@fina.ninja
