Frequently Asked Questions
Q. WHAT EXACTLY IS THE ROUND OF CHAMPIONS?
A. The Round of Champions is the final round for the FINA World Championships. All athletes that complete either the Speed or Endurance Course will be seeded into a bracket-style competition. Athletes will race in a one of a kind, head-to-head course combining the greatest elements from the Speed and the Endurance course. The races will continue until one athlete remains, and that athlete will be crowned FINA All-Around Champion.
Q. DO I NEED TO QUALIFY IN BOTH SPEED AND ENDURANCE TO QUALIFY FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS?
A. Absolutely not! World Championships will have a Speed Finals AND an Endurance Finals. If you only qualified in one of the two during the season, you are eligible to compete in that respective Finals, and still compete to earn your spot in the Round of Champions.
Q. HOW WILL ATHLETES BE SEEDED INTO THE ROUND OF CHAMPIONS?
A. Seeding for the Round of Champions will be based on course completion time in the respective Qualifying Rounds. Athletes that completed the qualifying course in the fastest relative time, will earn a higher seed in the Round of Champions. Athletes that successfully completed both the Speed and Endurance qualifying rounds, will automatically be seeded at the top of the Round of Champions bracket.
Q. Will there be other things to do besides watch other ninja’s compete?
A. There will be some vendors set up throughout the gym selling and discussing some of their amazing ninja products. Due to some of the restrictions around COVID-19 we will have to limit the number of athletes and spectators in the gym at any given point. We are working extremely hard to ensure that we keep our schedule tight so while your athlete is not running, you can take advantage of some of the amazing things Southeast Michigan has to offer in the autumn months.
